Song for the Suffering

I wrote this song after Hurricane Katrina and I pulled it out and was playing it last night as a prayer for those who are suffering in Haiti.

I look around and see,
So much pain and agony,
Where can I go to get away,
From the sorrow I've seen.

So I run to the Lord,
He hears my cry,
From afar,
He is always there.

I close my eyes to ease the pain,
I call upon His holy name,
I want to run away and hide,
But I can't close my mind's eye.

So I run to the Lord,
He hears my cry,
From afar,
He is always there.
