Our Island Honeymoon

We went to the Bay Islands in Honduras for our honeymoon. More specifically we went to the smallest of the bay Islands called Utila for five days (to clarify any miscommunication of how long we were gone.)  It was so beautiful. I have never in my life seen water so clear.
This picture was taken on Water Key.  We took a Captain Morgan's dive boat to Pigeon Key and from there paid a local fisherman to take us to this key in which we were there for about 3 hours all by ourselves.  The water was so clear and the sand was so white.  It was a picture perfect paradise.  I had plenty of time to practice snorkeling in calm, clear, shallow water before venturing into the world of coral reef, crazy sea life, and deep waters.
We just kind of winged the trip which made it all the more fun.  It was off season so we knew we wouldn't have a problem finding a place to stay.  We decided on an old wooden house, very similar to Acadian French homes, called Hotel Bird of Paradise.  Coincidence that my favorite flower is the Bird of Paradise, and my flowers in the wedding were Bird of Paradise, and we stayed at Hotel Bird of Paradise?

The second day we rented bikes and rode around the entire Island and saw many beautiful sights, beaches, bays, homes, ect.  The following day our butts couldn't take the bikes again so we rented a Vespa which was a blast to ride around the Island.  The most impressive thing, for me, was conquering my fear and venturing out into the deep waters of the ocean and seeing all the sea life.  I have never in my life seen such beauty, such colors, and detail.  It really made me appreciate God's creativity even more. It really put me in place. Many times we get so caught up in ourselves, and our lives and we forget that we are just a wisp in the atmosphere; a flame that is lit for a short time and then extinguished.
We had a wonderful time on our trip and yesterday we celebrated our 1 month anniversary.  Both of us are so surprised at how fast it has passed by and we want to make the most of our time and cherish the gift that God has given us through each other.
