Ruben's Progress

"He surrounded him, and guarded him as the pupil of His eye." Deut. 32:10

I can't begin this update, regarding Ruben, without expressing my gratitude to everyone, literally from the bottom of my heart, to all the thousands of people who have been praying for Ruben this past week.  Not only those who have been praying but those who have sent words of encouragement and financial support.  Each of you have played a very special part in all of this and the Lord will richly bless you for what you have done, for us.  I am so grateful and really blown away by the support from the school where I help teach, CEFAS.  The teachers, administration, students, and parents have all been so supportive during this situation.  It is above and beyond what I could have ever asked for.  I'm so thankful for our church and friends who have been there every step of the way, from taking me back and forth to the hospital to bringing us daily meals.  God has richly blessed us.

Ruben had an appointment with the Physician/Surgeon today.  He said everything looks good and normal. He is healing well.  Before Ruben had this accident he needed to wear glasses, so our next step we'll be getting him a new pair.  Then next week, we plan to see a Doctor who specializes in ocular prosthesis.  Ruben can slowly start back to his normal daily routine.  He has not hesitated in returning to work; right now he is working on youth group stuff.  He has been so amazing through all of this. Everyday we are seeing God's hand over our lives in an amazing way.  We have not given up hope.  We know that everything happens for a reason.  What the devil meant for bad, the Lord can turn around for good.  This incident has inspired and filled us with more passion for lost souls.  And with more passion to serve the Lord and do what He has called us to do.  We will keep marching on!
